All,

I am translating a medical certificate on the neurological status of a 86 year old patient.

The certificate is on a letterhead showing the names and specialities of the doctors' joint practice. It reads:

Dr. med. First Surname
FA für Nervenheilkunde/LANR 123456789
Dr. med. First Surname
FA für Neurologie/LANR 123456789

Would they both be "specialists in neurology" in English or is there a distinction to be made?
The certificate was written in Germany and the translation is intended for the authorities in Australia.

Specialist in Neurology and Psychiatry

Explanation:
There's a slight difference, which is that for Nervenheilkunde the doctor has to study 3 years of neurology as well as 3 years of psychiatry in order to be able to treat neurological diseases in a more holistic fashion. The other one is simply Specialist in Neurology. It would not be a tragedy to say simply neurology if it was a stand-alone term, but here you should really differentiate.
