German term or phrase: Stand der Heilkunde
[the study, the technique] wird von den nuklearmedizinischen Experten des Deutsche Roentgengesellschaft-Gremiums als Stand der Heilkunde eingestuft.

I understand "Stand der Heilkunde" as meaning that the technique/therapy being studied falls under standard medical practice (i.e., not experimental or not entirely so) and therefore not something that would require special, additional approval, but I wanted to check and I also wonder if there is a better or an official English term for it.

Based on the common legal/regulatory use of "Stand der Heilkunde", I agree with your interpretation that this is probably established versus experimental practice - not necessarily the gold standard, just non-experimental.
