retail marketing consultant/specialist Explanation: Don't you hate it when that happens? You're right, and your customer is wrong. The only thing I disagree with in your translation is the repetition of "marketing" - just "retail marketing consultant" would be better. This is from Wikipedia: In der Praxis wird der Begriff Handelsmarketing gelegentlich etwas irreführend für das Marketing von Herstellern in Bezug auf den Handel verwendet; terminologisch zutreffend ist dafür die Bezeichnung Trade Marketing. So unless this person is marketing to retailers rather than consumers, "trade marketing" is wrong. And a Referent is someone people refer to for specialist advice, not a manager: http://dictionary.reverso.net/german-english/referent |

wholesale marketing coordinator Explanation: Sadly, it's pointless to consult the Duden in a situation like this. As herbalchemist wrote in the discussion box, you need to compare job responsibilities, not titles. Companies (and their employees) can't even agree on a definition: https://www.wiwi-treff.de/Jobsuche-and-Jobboersen/Stellenbez... However, take a look at: https://personalmarketing2null.de/2014/11/stellenanzeigen-vo... Got that confirmed (offline). Unless they write "Business Partner" (that's a consultant, basically) or the like, I think either marketing coordinator or associate manager is the right choice given the circumstances, though I think the latter is more open to interpretation: https://work.chron.com/differences-between-assistant-manager... Here's a comparison: https://www.alphajump.de/karriereguide/beruf/marketingrefere... versus https://www.mediabistro.com/climb-the-ladder/what-does-a-mar... And a link that herbalchemist posted in the discussion box: http://www.marketing-schools.org/types-of-marketing/b2b-mark... Also, Birgit pointed out that this is most likely about wholesale marketing and I concur. Moreover, you'll have no trouble finding the job advertised somewhere: https://www.jopwell.com/jobs/12715 |
