Except that the term only shows up in the book you mentioned and this one:

I don't think the latter's "temporally" or "timely" works. Never been fond of these kinds of books, since a lot of the terms described in them are either wrong or off the mark.

Here's an actual example of "rescheduled inventory":

"Timothy Mills—Quality’s registered agent—had to reschedule due to a last minute conflict. [...] After learning about those fourteen units, and after completing the rescheduled inventory check, Midwest discovered that approximately $98,000 of the inventory it had warehoused with Quality was missing."

This has little to do with the question asked. To reschedule, you first need to schedule - and you haven't even scheduled it yet. It's also called "Inventurvereinfachung."

Besides, the question was: "Does anyone know an official corresponding English term?"

As far as I can tell, Holly, there's no official English translation.

"Die verlegte Inventur, auch zeitverschobene Inventur, wird als Inventurvereinfachungsverfahren in § 241 (3) HGB als auch R. 5.3 (1) EStR näher beschrieben. Ist die Inventur auf Grund sehr großer Bestände zum Bilanzstichtag nicht möglich oder sind die Bedingungen für die permanente Inventur nicht erfüllt, kann sie innerhalb der letzten drei Monate vor oder innerhalb der folgenden zwei Monate nach dem Stichtag durchgeführt werden. Wird dieser Zeitraum gewählt, muss eine wertmäßige Fortschreibung bzw. eine Rückrechnung zum Bilanzstichtag erfolgen."

Can't quite put my finger on it, but am not really happy with "rescheduled" either. What's there to reschedule (verlegt = verlagert)? It's simply "zeitversetzt."

Change of inventory date or counting period seems like the easiest solution.
