Hello!

I wonder if anyone would be able help translate the word "karunkulierte". It comes up in a short German book about a particular breed of pigeon called the Scandaroon/Nuremberg Bagdad (Die Nürnberger Bagdette) and is part of the description of the bird - schwarz, bzw. ganz dunkel gefärbt, hatte eine rote Augeniris, schmale, nackte Augenränder, rauhe, offenbar vergrößerte Schnabelwarzen (karunkulierte Wachshaut).

I have been unable to find anything so far. It is describing the skin growth on the beak - beak wattle - which is a large feature of this type of carrier pigeon.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

How will you translate "Schnabelwarzen" which is just in front of this term?
Maybe "beak wattle"? Then Yorkshireman's "warty" would be better, of course:
"beak wattle (warty/warted cere)".
If you used something with "warts" there already, maybe my answer could be used.
