Wie aus den auszugsweise beigefügten US-Steuerklärungen ersichtlich, nehmen beide Organisationen als Körperschaften (***„Corporation“***) die Steuerbegünstigung („Return of Organization Exempt From Income Tax“) in Anspruch („except private foundations“).

My take EN:
As can be seen from the excerpts of the US tax returns attached, both organizations, in their capacity as ***corporations***, claim the tax privilege granted by the Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax, cf. the concept "except private foundations".

All English in the source comes from the German-speaking author and should be more or less authentic due to their involvement with the international charitable organization firmly headquartered in the U.S..

This is really only about spelling: do I have to use a capital C here or lower case? (I tend to think it's lower case).

U.S. English, please (I think this should be obvious from the text situation).
