system access control Explanation: In my opinion, the correct translation for "Zugangskontrolle" would be "system access control" or just "access control". https://www.proz.com/kudoz/german-to-english/computers-systems-networks/1589142-zutrittskontrolle-zugangskontrolle-zugriffskontrolle.html |

Equipment access control Explanation: "System access control" is good. The German government's official translation (§ 64 Abs. 2 Nr. 1 BDSG) of "ZUGANGSkontrolle" is "equipment access control" (This contrasts with "ZUGRIFFSkontrolle" (§ 64 Abs. 2 Nr. 5 BDSG) = "Data access control"). -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 58 days (2020-01-06 13:52:40 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Because of the distinction between "system access control" and "data access control" in BDSG-related texts, I would suggest not to default simply to "access control"; perhaps the inclusion of "system" or "data" in square parentheses e.g. "[system] access control" would be beneficial to underscore the imputed difference. https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/englisch_bdsg/englisch_bdsg.html#p0449 |
