German term or phrase: aktualität
XXX betreibt eine Webplattform ([website]), über welche Aktualitäten vermittelt werden und die Leserschaft Profile erstellen, News publizieren, Inserate aufgeben und Themen diskutieren kann.

I'm having problems with 'Aktualitäten' here. I don't think something like 'topicality' or 'up-to-dateness' sound quite right, and I'm reticent to say 'share news', as there is 'publish news' later on.

I'd appreciate any help.

Hi Nick, I think your own suggestion was a good one for this context. I would just add 'the latest'.

for all things current

Explanation:
platform for all things current.

"Latest News" may be too restrictive as some people still think the purpose of news is to educate and inform viewers about important stuff. Same problem with 'topical issues': too serious for Aktualitäten which could cover a lot of things that are current or trendy but not considered 'newsworthy' by some. The use of the term "News" in the German text is not helpful in this regard as nobody knows how they define that either...

"The Loop Magazine is a fun, chic, cutting edge, descriptive experience of fashion, food, travel, sports, entertainment, business and relationships. Our mission is consistently providing an exclusive platform for all things current while catering to a diverse readership highlighting creative debatable topics coupled with meaningful content discussing the issues that affect all aspects of everyday life." http://android.vshare.com/The-Loop-Magazine

-> You're welcome. But I don’t have to care about the use of ‘exclusive’ in that source. My term “all things current” is still spot on, IMO
