German term or phrase: Nachtragskalkulation
I am currently helping a German company prepare an in-house glossary German-English for their most frequently used expressions. They have an expression for their glossary "Nachtrag der Kalkulation" translated into English (quite inadequately I think) as "supplement" . I am sure "Nachtrag der Kalkulation" should anyway read "Nachtragskalkulation". It refers to an adjusted cost calculation factor which a car repair shop might use to change its original repair costs estimate/appraisal. My translation would in fact be"additional costing" or would "supplementary costing" be better? Do Nachtragskalkulationen take place when unforeseen costs are incurred or only when the Auftraggeber, in this case the insured, insists on work or material in excess of the original agreement?

As usual, all suggestions and help gratefully received.
