German term or phrase: Willerung
From a 19th-century document:
"Er erhält 174 Morgen Ackerland nebst 16 Morgen **Willerungen**, sowie die Wiesen am ..., zusammen 40 Morgen."
I get six Google hits for Willerung, all in similar contexts (e.g. Das ursprünglich Nassau - Saarbrücksche Hofgut in Kirrberg umfaßt über 200 Morgen Land an Äckern, Wiesen Wäldern und **Willerung**) but I'd like to know the exact meaning.
I've already checked Duden, Grimms, Muret-Sanders, Zedler, Haberkern/Wallach, Duden.

possibly derived from 'weiler' ; homestead

Explanation:
it may be derived from 'weiler' = homestead; also: hamlet
Possibly, the '16 Morgen' included some homesteads?

Johanna, thanks for your effort. Yours was the only reply, and I appreciate your taking time to try to help. However, I could not select it because I learned from other sources that it was a variant spelling of "Wilderung," which fits my context perfectly. I had reason to believe that there was no development on this land at the time of its acquisition.
