cylindrical bakery Explanation: 'Rundbäckerei' can indeed mean round pastry ('Bäckerei' – just like 'bakery' in English – has several meanings: it is not only the place where bread and cakes are made or sold, but also the baked product itself). Here, however, it just refers to shape of the building. Here are few links where it is referred to as a cylindrical bakery: "Now, the giant 1930s cylindrical bakery, which as Bread Factory Number 5 once housed a spiralling production line churning out 250,000 loaves a day, is becoming a “cultural cluster” including a bread museum." https://itinerariesoftaste.sanpellegrino.com/taste-guide/bak... "The main body of the bakery is a five-storey cylindrical building, which was built in 1934 and can be seen as a monument to Soviet constructivism." https://www.calvertjournal.com/news/show/6648/former-moscow-... And here you have a picture of it (the red cylindrical building in the top left photo): http://www.hlebozavod-zotova.ru/ |
