German term or phrase: Abrechnung der Arbeitnehmer
Hi,

I would like clarification on this phrase. It comes from a company handbook, namely a scheme for calculating the company's manufacturing costs, and I would like clarification on whether "Abrechnung der...Arbeitnehmer" here means "provided that the production employees are on payroll" or something along those lines.

Lohnbüro, soweit ***Abrechnung der in der Fertigung tätigen Arbeitnehmer***

It's just such a vague formulation and wanted to gather some other opinions on this. Thank you!

English translation:[suggestion for the whole phrase]
Explanation:
Payroll department, for (paying) production workers.

It's the costs incurred by the department in paying those workers rather than any others. You could possibly leave out "paying", since it's what the payroll department does.

I think this is the payroll department's costs, rather than the pay itself, but that doesn't affect the translation.

employee labour costs

Explanation:
No, it isn't about whether the employees are on the payroll, but rather how much the employee in question's labour costs in the completion of finished article as a percentage of total costs, including raw materials, etc; in other words: "die Abrechnung der Gehälter des Arbeitnehmers"
