First section of a Darlehensvertrag between a real estate company and a German Bank. All I can cop me up with is "Nominal Loan Agreement" but it doesn't "feel" right. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

The amount loaned to the borrower/debtor, which must be repaid to the bank or the lender/crediot is called principal sum. This amount is also called nominal debt.

Asker: Not quite sure why you need to know the exact amount of the loan. There is a typo in my comment, which should read "All I can come up with is..."

Asker: Yep! I think that's the problem. It should be "...betrag". I'll contact my client and get it put right in the original. Thank you very, very much!
