The closest I can find for Rahmlinsen is "lentils in cream", but are these "bunten Rahmlinsen" some kind of multicoloured lentils, or what colour?

The problem with "creamed lentils" is that it infers purreed, so they would then be a brown mud.
I know of four colours for lentils. brown, red, green and black, so the tricolour won't work either.

agree  Sarah Bessioud: in a cream sauce (cream is definitely an ingredient, whereas 'creamy' may refer to consistency (made with milk and thickened up, for example))
