German term or phrase: ohne Berechnung in das Programm eingestiegen wird
Here is the full sentence:

"Der RCS Postprocessor ist so ausgelegt dass ohne Berechnung in das Programm eingestiegen wird.
Mit Berechnung ist nicht erlaubt"

This is in the User's Manual for a machining system (Bearbeitungssystem), also known as a milling system. The sentence above appears as a separate note in a box labeled "Attention". It follows a description of postprocess measuring. RCS very likely stands for Revision Control System.

I'm aware that "ohne Berechnung" usually means "free of charge", but that seems very unlikely in this context. "Without calculation" just possibly makes sense, but I'm not sure what it would mean that the program can be entered (or what I assume to be a better translation, "accessed") without calculation. I literally don't know what this means. Can anybody help?

English translation:...enters the program without calculation
Explanation:
I think your suggestion could actually work very well. I have found some description of a milling equipment which has a function "without calculation". Take a look at the text extract below and the links. This seems to make sense. I would use "enter" (Einstieg) instead of "access" (Zugriff).

BLOCK SEARCH: Program execution always starts at the beginning of the program unless one does a CNC operation known as “block search”. There are a number of variants on block search. One can search “with calculation” to have the CNC run the program in its “mind” until it gets to the target block. One can do a block search without calculation. In this case program execution goes directly to the target block
without any exposure to what transpired in the program before the target block.
