German to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Computers (general)
German term or phrase: Schreibkraft
I know this means secretary, typist, etc. but what does it mean in the context of a button/key designation in a word processing program? In the particular file I'm working on, it appears in a list of buttons/keys. Many of the symbols in this program are similar to those on the Word toolbar, this one is designated with a thick, backwards pointing arrow.

typist

Explanation:
I think it may well be typist, for example in a (new digital-type) Diktiergerät.
This comes from the menu/operating instructions of one such Grundig device, Digta 4015. (I also found the complete English version by googling.)

"– Schreibkraft (TP) Schreibkraft wählen (TP = aus dem
Englischen „typist”) für neue Diktate."
