Eigentlich hängt es nur vom Kontext ab. Dort, wo diese Satzmarkierung gesetzt/gelöscht wird, ist (vermutlich) von record/line (Datensatz/Zeile) die Rede.

Die \"blaue Hinterlegung\" ist Ansichtssache. Einerseits steht es so im Original, andererseits ist das tatsächliche Aussehen einer solchen Markierung (zumindest bei Windows) eine Sache der lokalen Einstellungen.
