Brave/Dauntless OR Matchless/Unrivaled Explanation: I believe "უპოვარი" (in this case in archaic plural dative - უპოვართ) is a shortening of შე-უპოვარი (spelled as შეუპოვარი, hyphen is merely used for underline), which means brave, dauntless, fortitudinous, grim, backboned etc. Alternatively, it can also be a shortening (yes, the author likely took liberties with what he wrote) of სწორ-უპოვარი (სწორუპოვარი) which means matchless, peerless, unrivaled, unequaled, unsurpassable. The context of heroes hints at either of these alternatives. |
