Perte d'une chance: préjudice résultant de la disparition, due au fait d'un tiers, de la probabilité d'un événement favorable et donnant lieu à une réparation partielle, mesurée sur la valeur de la chance perdue déterminée par un calcul de probabilités.

Es la definición que he encontrado del término. En español no se me ocurre ahora mismo un equivalente exacto... No sé si lo habrá, pero no me suena... Yo creo que "pérdida de oportunidad" o "pérdida de una oportunidad favorable debido a un tercero" (claro, mucho más largo) estaría bien.
