French term or phrase: attaque / appui

Es geht um die Beschreibung von Gesundheits- bzw. Balance-Schuhen. Da kommt zuerst "attaque" vor und danach "appui". Ich hatte "attaque" mit "Auftreten" übersetzt, aber mit "appui" scheint das ebenfalls gemeint zu sein. Die Sätze lauten:

"Dès ***l’attaque*** du pas, la partie postérieure étant en biseau, elle permet d’éviter une ***attaque*** trop franche du talon et ainsi favoriser un bon déroulé du pas"

"À ***l’appui*** du pied, une large surface creuse assure la même fonction que la gouttière.
