French term

pièce à manches

French to English Marketing Textiles / Clothing / Fashion
"[Company X] spécialisée dans la pièce à manches et [Company Y] dans les pièces à jambes travaillent avec les plus grandes griffes françaises..."

From this, I gather that X makes sleeved garments (i.e. jackets, shirts, sweaters, etc.) and Y makes trousers, leggings, etc.

Is there a broad, generic term in the English-language rag trade for these?
Although "sleeved garments" sounds OK, "legged garments" sounds a bit odd.
I'll ask a separate question for "pièce à jambes" so as to avoid incurring "mod wrath" - maybe a chance for double points for someone!

Thanks in advance.

Note from asker:
I'm not sure about this, TBH, as a "top" - in common UK vernacular, at least - means a T-shirt or similar garment which may indeed be sleeveless. Good link though - thanks!
