French term or phrase: aux nues
Dan but cul sec le premier. Adriana lui passa le téléphone.

Since Lisa is there, I don't think it has to do with "naked". Can it be that "she was in the clowds"?

Explanation:
Yes, you're right about "clouds". It means she's so happy, she's "flown up to the clouds/ascended to heaven".

disagree  Elisabeth Gootjes: In 7th heaven is "au 7è ciel" in FR-FR. In this context, it is more likely "delighted"

-> I think "être aux nues" is a lot stronger than "delighted". If the writer had meant "delighted" they would have been more likely to use "ravie" or "enchantée", or "elle se réjouissait".

agree  writeaway: In 7th heaven or on cloud nine is perfect. See: https://www.larousse.fr/dictionnaires/francais-anglais/nues/...

agree  Tony M: I think "on cloud 9" is closest; "7th heaven" is perhaps a little OTT — "the ultimate ecstasy"!
