This term is often associated with Baudelaire. For example, here is an excerpt from the entry on Baudelaire in the Larousse encyclopedia:

I was just wondering what the accepted, standard English translation is, if one exists.

play of correspondences
Explanation:
I've always heard it referred to as the play of correspondences.

I'm sure 'interplay' would work fine, too, instead of 'play'.

Theory of Correspondence

Explanation:
I have heard people speaking about Baudelaire's correspondence theory. And in poetry in general. (see ref)

However, I think keeping the French is also an option here.

Whatever suits best,

neutral  Helen Shiner: Yes, his 'theory' is referred to in that way, but this is the mechanics of the interplay of those correspondences.

Explanation:

Reference information:
Baudelaire's theory of correspondences and his introduction of such topics as the city and the ugly side of man's nature to poetry in verse are responsible for the modern quality of Les Fleurs du mal.

Baudelaire's "Doctrine of Correspondences" suggests a belief of sorts in a pattern for the world and in relationships between the physical world and a spiritual one.
