Cette expression, ca se trouve dans le contexte de 17e siecle( par Jean Teule).
Mais je n'en sais ni le sens "exacte" ni comment traduire "exactement" en anglais.

Voici le contexte : La guerre est une entreprise ruineuse. L'aristocrate qui achete une charge militaire doit egalement financer sa compagnie : prevoir chevaux de monture, des charettes, des mules, ustensiles de menage et de campement, tentes, lits, vaisselle.
