French term or phrase: a line from 'Hiroshima mon amour'

hello,

I am wondering if you could help me find the best way to translate the following quote. It is from Marguerite Duras' script for the film Hiroshima mon amour, and the bit that I am asking (in inverted commas) were left out from the film version. I do understand what it means, but was hoping to get your input as to how best to translate it - it seems important to me that Duras had wanted to emphasis this bit yet Resnais decided not to include it...

Elle: Hi-ro-shi-ma. C’est ton nom.
Lui: C’est mon nom. Oui. "On en est là seulement encore. Et on en restera là pour toujours." Ton nom à toi est Nevers. Ne-vers-en-France.

I would appreciate feedbacks particularly from those who know the film - this is the last line of the script and you'd know the importance of this exchange if you've seen the film.

Him: That's my name. Yes. "We are only still here because of it. And we will remain here forever because of it." To me, your name is Nevers. Ne-vers-in-France.
