Explanation:
There's no direct equivalent because of the different educational systems between the US, UK, and France, but any entering student in the US would be called a freshman. When dealing with anything apart from a traditional four year degree or diploma, you'd add the name of the school and program after the term in question, so something like freshman at Example College studying for a certificate in Technical Studies.

Explanation:
There is no exact equivalent to the French system in the English-speaking world.
I assume, since you are in France, you want UK English here?
So "freshman" would NOT be used.

This would be fairly equivalent to Key Stage 5 .
That is, Year 12 (or Lower Sixth) for this age group is their first year of A levels (UK equivalent of BAC) or pre-university studies.

You could keep the lot in French of course but I think 2 GT is enough with the rest in English. Just in case you need US English here is a chart showing grade/class equivalents

neutral  Ph_B (X): agree about "freshman", but wouldn't seconde be Year 11 in the UK as it's followed by 1e and Terminale, which would be Y 12 and Y13.

  -> year 11 is GCSE year whereas this is the start of senior Bac cycle in France so the nearest equivalent would be Key Stage 5/Lower Sixth or Year 12. As I said, there's no exact equivalant. But in terms of academic cycle, this is closest imo
