irregular metre Explanation: An irregular metre (UK spelling) is a time signature with an odd number of beats per bar. If I were translating both terms given in capital letters I would render it as 'duple and irregular metres', or 'duple time' and 'irregular metres'. I've never heard anyone say 'irregular time', although you can say 'irregular time signatures'. |
