goniometer Explanation: Could it be a possible typo and be a goniometer instead? A goniometer is an instrument that either measures an angle or allows an object to be rotated to a precise angular position. The term goniometry is derived from two Greek words, gōnia, meaning angle, and metron, meaning measure. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goniometer -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 51 Min. inclinometer Explanation: I haven't been able to find the answer in any of the usual sources. However the 'level box' device is described as a soniomètre on the French amazon website https://www.amazon.fr/Footprintes-Régulateur-dinclinaison-so... and as an inclinometer on the UK site. https://www.amazon.co.uk/HHTEC-Inclinometer-Digital-Waterpro... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 40 mins (2019-12-11 08:22:04 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- An inclinometer does measure angle, I think they use various means to do this depending on the model -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 45 mins (2019-12-11 08:26:58 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I'm not sure hence my low confidence level -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 7 hrs (2019-12-11 14:58:09 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- The spiel on the French has just been changed! so not sure |
