In the context of a neurological exam to detect and characterise tremor:
"un tremblement myoclonique irrégulier, avec des myoclonies de durée brève, majorées par l’extension passive et la manoeuvre du Bretteur."

I've found the following explanation in French:
"Elle consiste à tendre les bras en positionnant les deux index à quelques millimètres l’un de l’autre. Cela permet de déceler un éventuel tremblement d’attitude."

I'm wondering if the test just doesn't have a name in English, partly based on the description of the tests in Table 5 here:

Postural, or action tremor, is observed when muscles voluntarily contract. This tremor is exhibited with any attempt to keep the limbs or trunk in a particular position, for example to keep the arms outstretched. This type of tremor becomes worse when the limb is actively moved, for instance, when trying to drink from a cup. However, no tremor is observed when the limb is fully relaxed. This tremor is most often seen as a manifestation of essential tremor.

Asker: Thank you. Unfortunately I don't think that can be the translation, as the "manoeuvre du Bretteur" requires the arms to be bent with the index fingers pointing towards each other. I've just found a helpful diagram here on page 14: http://docplayer.fr/15115173-Le-guide-du-tremblement-essentiel.html The arm stabilization test and pronator drift test seem to be used to detect arm weakness rather than tremor.
