The trouble is, it's not at all the same shape, and the part in question is only vaguely like a lyre in the first place, and is nothing at all like any usual form of harp.

I think harp is better than lyre. Most people wouldn't know what a lyre looks like.

Nope, not really!
For one thing, we don't usually describe things as being lyre-shaped in EN.
And more importantly as i've said below, we'd probably describe this by its function, rather than emphasizing what shape it is.

I should've posted the drawings earlier with the question... So here based on its form I think "retaining lyre" or "lyre shaped retaining element" would be an appropriate answer?

Poetic, indeed! We also use them in cooking, for cutting cheese, foie gras, sponge cakes etc.

Generally, the notion of 'lyre' is something that is roughly U-shaped, but with the extremities bent slightly inwards – e.g. certain types of pipe-clip, unlike the circumferential strap type.
The only use I've encountered with actual pipes have been those expansion loops found in things like steam pipes...

A manille "lyre" is called a bow shackle, apparently (as opposed to a dee shackle):

It appears it can also describe a flexible tube for liquids or gases. And a pipe clip can also be a "lyre". Who would have thought plumbing could be so poetic?

Yes, in general 'lyre' describes something 'U' or 'V' or 'Y' shaped — can often be something like a 'yoke'.
I think the 'manille lyre' normally describes the rather more curvaceous model, which looks a bit like an Ancient Greek lyre, as distinct from the more prozaic purely U-shaped shackle.

A "lyre" (strictly "manille lyre") is commonly used in sailing or in safety harnesses to attach a cable to a solidly mounted anchor point. It is generally "U" shaped with a bolt passing through the two open arms of the "U". But without more context, this is just conjecture. Maybe it's just a "U" shaped clip....?
