sub-sampling with lag Explanation: I'd translate what is happening literally. Sequential-subsampling is still being done but with a lag dt applied at each step. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2015-02-23 10:32:30 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- OK - Claude-Andrew's version of the link will open for me (Tony's doesn't for some reason). It says "sub-sampling with sliding windows" - that's not canonical and the English seems a bit ropy e.g. "disjoined", but it's certainly a reasonable description of what's happening. Overlapping windows are created by shifting each by the lag dT. They use "sliding sub-sampling" as a figure heading but I wouldn't use it on first occurrence - I'd go with "sub-sampling with sliding windows", "sub-sampling with lagged windows" or just "sub-sampling with lag". -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2015-02-23 11:16:21 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- This has a lot of extraneous stuff, but Sampling Time-Based Sliding Windows is a way of describing it https://people.mpi-inf.mpg.de/~rgemulla/publications/gemulla... |
