I cannot get my brain around this, although I know exactly what they are talking about. It is important to look at the expression compared with the expression in the second paragraph, i.e. the opposition between tendences "de fonds" and "conjoncturelles". I think it's the "évolution" part that's bothering me. Any suggestions much appreciated!

Here's the context, it's from a report by a famous flatware/kitchenware manufacturer.


Aussi, les développements produits correspondant à des tendances d’évolution de fonds (formes, usages, matériaux), sont réalisés en partenariat avec les professionnels de l’hôtellerie-restauration, et commercialisés auprès d’eux préalablement à leur présentation à la vente auprès des consommateurs.

Les développements correspondant à des tendances conjoncturelles (saisonnalité, couleurs, décors), font essentiellement l’objet d’une commercialisation auprès des consommateurs
