French term or phrase: situation (this context)
I am translating a program that helps evaluate hazardous materials/products in the work place. The word "situation" is used quite frequently, below is a list of examples:
- Liste des produits en situation
- Impossible de supprimer ce produit il est analysé dans les campagnes de mesure des situations suivantes
- Suppression du danger dans l'entreprise impossible ! Il est mis en situation.
- Date mise en situation

I had asked the client about the "date de mise en situation" for clarification, and here is their response:
Il s’agit de la date à laquelle on commence à utiliser un produit chimique (notion de situation de travail).

I'm afraid that I'm either very dense or over-thinking this way too much. Is "situation" in this context simply 'in use"? I know that situation is often translated as "scenario" but given the client's explanation, I'm not sure that it works.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Explanation:
Hello,

This is difficult, as it seems that each example has to be translated differently ("situation" being a more "all-purpose" word in French, requiring a more "refined" word in English)

- Liste des produits en situation = List of products involved

- Impossible de supprimer ce produit il est analysé dans les
campagnes de mesure des situations suivantes = Impossible to remove the product .... from the following situations

- Suppression du danger dans l'entreprise impossible ! Il est mis en situation = part of the situation = factored in (il = le danger)

- Date de mise en situation = date of implementation

I hope this helps.

Thanks Matthew, I think you're right, there isn't one word to cover everything.
