Tech/Engineering - Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.) / property of paint
French term or phrase: garnissage des arêtes
Product information to appear on a paint tin. Paint first described then list of properties given. I've come across 'garnissant' before in the context of paint and on that occasion found 'high build' was the term (GDT and elsewhere), but can't see how that fits here. Found one bilingual site:

Titre du document / Document title. La composition de la peinture en poudre et le garnissage des arêtes = Composition of powder paint and edge packing

Can't find any other support for that elsewhere, however. French term doesn't get many hits and isn't explained. Any paint specialists out there?

In spite of the unfortunate "s" on "ensures".

Excellent. Thanks a lot, and also to Geo for the link. Frustratingly, I'd already checked out the French version of that but on the page I looked at there was no link to an English version. Useful search tip perhaps - if fr appears in the URL try changing to en or gb or uk to see what happens!

gap filling

Explanation:
Although an arête is usually an edge or ridge, it seems to make more sense here that the paint is sufficiently dense that it fills those annoying scratches which can ruin a nice paint job.
