French term or phrase: intérêt particulier
Hello,

THis is the first time I come across this in a patent and would like to know if any of you know the correct terminology (if it exists in this case)?

"Toutefois, de tels centreurs peuvent présenter une forme autre que la forme circulaire précitée si l'homme du métier y trouve un intérêt particulier"

I have put it like this:
"... may exhibit a shape other than the aforementioned circular shape if the skilled person finds it of interest.

Thank you in advance.

agree  Tony M: I agree not 'of interest'; in this formal context, I suppose 'worthwhile' might be an alternative to 'useful'.
