Notes to answerer
Asker: Hi, I don't think we can speak of Facebook as a brique - according to the definition you posted.

Asker: I explained more of my reply in the discussion session.

agree  Bourth (X): Yup, other Google bricks being GoogleMaps, GoogleEarth, etc. "Blocks", maybe, as in "building blocks"?

agree  Tony M: The whole point is, this isn't referring to Facebook, but to a component added to Google to make it more like Facebook!

Brick OS

Explanation:
They could be referring to the Google Brick Operating System.

One of the reasons I thought they might be referring to the operating system, was the fact that a 'brick' in the sense of a building block doesn't really seem to be appropriate as Vera points out in the discussion above.
The fact that the French 'brique' is in the singular doesn't surprise me, even if it is referring to Bricks OS.

Perhaps it is referring to bricks and clicks
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bricks_and_clicks which is a business model.

neutral  rkillings: The name is actually Bricks-OS, and it's not Google's OS. Open-source project *hosted* at Google Code (previously at SourceForge).
