French to English translations [Non-PRO]
Human Resources / Bylaws from company in France
French term or phrase: liste de souscription
France, company bylaws, section on discipline and behavior-list of what is unacceptable:
- de faire circuler sans autorisation d'un responsable, des listes de souscription ou de collecte.

from what I can determine through searches, they are talking about circulating a petition (of any sort I imagine), but I haven't been able to find any concrete examples of this. French definitions of this seem to be what they are talking about, but I haven't found any bi-lingual examples.
Any input would be appreciated.

neutral  writeaway: very convincing refs to back 100% confidence. if it's this simple and straightforward, so be it but references would be more reassuring with so much confidence

agree  philgoddard: I don't know exactly what they mean by this, but I don't think it's the translator's problem.

disagree  Daryo: understanding FIRST the source text IS the translator's problem. If CL5 with practically no context to speak of was acceptable, on which grounds you would argue against replacing us all with MT?
