It's not a regional government office, it's a regional office of the chamber of commerce. Try Googling "antenne" "Trégor Goëlo" and you'll see that I'm right.

This is about a bid to develop alternative sources of energy. The team has been set up by a company bidding on the project. Hence interaction with government officials. A lot of the organisations are at the local and regional levels, involving a few chambers of commerce, as well. My google hits seem to indicate that "antenne" is some sort of local bureau/region.

I think I can make it a bit clearer. There are elected officials who head up certain committees, like "Président de la Commission environnement". According to your explanation, it would be correct to use "President of the Committee on the Environment" as it's a political function as opposed to an administrative function. Where the individual is classified as "Administrations", it would be better to use "Chair" since that individual is performing an administrative function???

Yes, you're right when you say that French local bodies' managers or administrators may be referred to as Président (conseil général, conseil régional par exemple...) and/or VP.
What about "chair" ? Yes, as I said earlier. But a chair(person) IS in charge, when a president may not be !

PS: Michel, am I right in assuming that it would appear that France has opted for US styling of job titles for administrative bodies at the local, regional and national level? I say this because there are several local and regional administrative bodies whose managers/administrators are referred to as "Vice-président" or "VP".

Phil, this isn't the Chamber of Commerce because there's an acronym for that CCI = Chamber of Commerce and Industry. I think it's more along the lines of what Michel described given that Trégor-Goelo is part of the region of Brittany. To compound matters, I have to provide a UK English translation. That's why I was quite hesitant to use "President" and chose "Chair". This classification is obviously about a local administrative authority responsible for Trégor-Goelo. How about "Chair of the Local Administrative Authority for Trégor-Goelo"?

The organisation is the chamber of commerce. I think president is the obvious translation.
