plant life of the quarternary period Explanation: If this is a geology text, my guess is that quaternaire just refers to the Quaternary geological period, so I'd go with a more direct translation "the plant life of the quaternary period". Translating 'ourlet' as 'plant life' instead of 'vegetation' generates far more Google hits: https://www.google.co.uk/search?newwindow=1&q=the plant life... https://www.google.co.uk/search?newwindow=1&biw=1366&bih=639... |

Quaternary fold Explanation: I don't believe that the meaning of "ourlet" has anything to do with plant life. However, the quarternary fold is characterised here by the remains of plant life found within it. http://www.science.gov/topicpages/t/teras fault southern.htm... "Uplifted Holocene terraces are important indicators of active tectonics, and its presence can be interpreted as a geomorphic expression of active faulting. Therefore, the Quaternary fold-and-thrust belts along the Chelungpu fault are one of the best areas for neotectonic studies. " |
