French term or phrase: Galets et graviers lavés
In a list of strata in a geoogical report.

In this context, does "lavé" mean that the stones are pale coloured, or that they have pehaps been eroded by the water? Or does it mean something completely different? I don't seem to be able to find anything conclusive.

Any suggestions much appreciated!

washed pebbles and gravel

Explanation:
'Washed gravel' was given in the reference below for 'gravier lavé'.

However, it is in a landscaping book, so not the same context.

Water-worn pebbles and gravel

Explanation:
I think for a geological report, this would be a more appropriate term, and quite possibly what is meant here.
