Il était au septième étage. En haut il y en avait encore deux. Vu sa tête, les ouvriers avaient tout compris, la passerelle monta d’un coup là-haut sur la terrasse.


I imagine that "vu" means something like "considering" etc. but is "sa tête" just bad writing of my author? or is there an expression that I am ignorant of?

agree  Hilary McGrath: I might also say 'judging by his expression' or 'judging by the look on his face'. FWIW, I'd imagine the expression is of fear due to the risk involved in having to climb to work in a dangerous place.
