French term or phrase: neinage
"La difficulté de ce travail, c’est d’avoir d’une part des pointes parfaitement nettes, des joints qui sont propres, bien rectilignes et puis d’avoir le neinage qui se raccorde à chaque intersection."

This one word "neinage" I have not been able to track down in translation to English yet. I can infer that it has to do with what I would call "embossing" on the door panel of a sideboard or cupboard - but I would be glad of some insights, please.

agree  nweatherdon: not so familiar with neinage, but in English, natural is definitely not needed to refer to the grain of the wood

-> Thanks njweatherdon. It seems to be used in rather "flowery" contexts and perhaps I got carried away :-)

agree  Karen Vincent-Jones (X): Yes, grain (of the wood)
