Explanation:
I only get one Ghit for this in French, so I'm guessing it's not the usual term for this job.

Also pure guesswork that it might be a forklift truck driver. A forklift is usually a 'chariot élévateur à fourche' and someone who drives one a 'cariste' (see http://www.wordreference.com/enfr/forklift), but is there any chance this might fit in your context?
