French term or phrase: De troisième part
Good afternoon/evening,

Fort the first time in my almost four years of translating I've come across the above at the beginning of the document.
"DE TROISIEME PART"

I couldn't find this in ProZ.com and would like to know the exact terminology in British English.[ I've used Party of the first and second Part for the first two].

Thank you for your help on this one.

Best,

de troisième part
in the third party

Explanation:
Well, whatever you've used up till now, you really need to keep consistent; I don't think you can change from 'Party of the first' to 'Second Part' (not least, because part doesn't mean the same thing anyway!)

I'm assuming (because you don't actually mention it in your context!) that these are the parties to some kind of agreement or contract?

agree  Mark Hamlen: Sort of. This is common French legalese. In agreements the list of parties is followed by de 1ere part, de 2eme part, etc. I usually use AS THE FIRST/SECOND/THIRD PARTY. English agreements don't do this, so this is my solution.

-> Thanks, Mark! I'm sure there probably is an 'official' way of saying it in EN, but I freely admit I'm not a egal expert, and can't say I've come across it very often.

agree  philgoddard: Minus the "in".

I would change the "Party of the first part".. etc -to "of the first part" and "of the second part" respectively.
