putting of equipment into operation

Explanation:
The context in which the phrase is found provides a limited but sure understanding of the phrase. In its entirety, the sentence: <"Est-vous en mesure de mobiliser les moyens pour suivre la mise en exploitation des équipements et ouvrages?"> would mean: <"Are you able to mobilise tools in order to track the putting of equipment into operation and the commissioning of works?">

Since <exploitation> affects both <équipements> and <ouvrages>, I'd think that the same English word translated for "équipement" cannot be applied to the two terms. I'd prefer putting of equipment into operation and commissioning of works.

Erreur de frappe: J'écrivais "Êtes-vous".

Example sentence(s):
  • La mise en exploitation de ces objets ameliorera considérablement l'infrastructure transporteure de Sochi.
  • Putting into operation of these facilities will significantly improve the transport infrastructure of Sochi.

disagree  Tony M: Although that is literally, word-for-word what it means, the end result is simply not idiomatic in EN. Even 'putting equipment into operation' or 'putting into operation of equipment ' would be closer, but still not very idiomatic.

disagree  Daryo: you can't invent your own versions for established terminology - people in that business call it simply "commissioning" and it's not outsiders who are going to make them change their jargon. + linguee is useless
