This is a patent document describing the configuration and unique features of a gas generator, typically for use in an airbag system.

One element is the 'moyens de filtration' through which the inflator gases will pass through. They are designed in such a way as to prevent any 'serrage' within them, as below:

'Cette mise en œuvre permet de garantir une bonne circulation des gaz de combustion dans les moyens de filtration, sans provoquer de serrage dans ces derniers.'

Preceeding this is a sentence describing the dimensions of the filter in relation to the pyrotechnic substance.

As the filter is unlikely to be moving, I assume 'serrage' refers to their blockage by the inflator gases or the congestion of these gases within this part.

Your insight as to whether 'blockage' or 'congestion' are appropriate would be most welcome.
