In this context, many thanks.

"In physics, moment of force (often just moment) is a measure of its tendency to cause a body to rotate about a specific point or axis. In this concept the moment arm, the distance from the axis of rotation, plays an important role. ... In physics, a moment is a combination of a physical quantity and a distance."

shear and bending moment

Explanation:
Hello

As per Isaak's answer, "moment" often = "torque" but we are certainly not talking about car gears here and I don't think we are talking about tightening bolts either, although they occur in the text just two sentences later.
So I feel that the "moment" is more the "shear force" (not to be confused with "sheer force")
See my references for more detail.

disagree  Daryo: "shear force" and "bending moment" are two different concepts - two translations for one term?

-> Hi Daryo: I did hesitate on this but on reading the wiki page, both forces can be measured at a given point and was not sure if the text just meant one force and if so which one.

agree  John Fossey: The moment results in a torque but is not the torque itself.
