Geothermal heat pumps (except direct expansion) Explanation: I just translated a document on geothermal heat pumps and had to look it up myself. It corresponds to direct expansion or direct exchange heat pumps (both abbreviated as DX, more g-hits for the first but both are used). It's an older method that some installers no longer use.
