remote / displaced phosphor Explanation: Again, lack of context makes this an almost impossible task; maybe you can find the actual patent online...? However, just wanted to point out that in the case of fluroescent lamps etc., the coating inside the tube that glows under the influence of the UV radiation produced by the ionization inside the tube is called a 'phosphor', which seems therefore the most likely meaning in your lighting context (coloured 'phosphors' were of course also used in old CRT-based colour TV technology!) As for 'déporté', that usually means 'away from its normal place' — since the 'normal place' is coating the inside of a fluorescent tube, I can't quite imagine where it could be moved too — unless the idea were to put the coating on the OUTSIDE of the tube, which would certainly open up some very interesting possibilities! |
