French term or phrase: hors flux
This term has come up before, but it doesn't fit here. It concerns the equipment and fittings for a stand at a trade fair.

Context:
ÉQUIPÉ
• Moquette, couleur pré-déterminée
• Cloisons en mélaminée
• 1 rail de spots (hors flux) / 12 m2

Obviously referring to a spotlight rail.

excluding passsageways

Explanation:
flux de circulation

It is obvious this is a net floor area of 12 sq.m excluding "lex flux", probably the passageways. It is unclear why this was included in the spotlight entry. Hence the low confidence level.

Another example of the same context, where "les flux" were correlated with the spotlights:

Mar 7, 2009 - 12 600m² de surface d'exposition : stands et espaces d'informations, ..... 100m² nus (hors flux et décoration) avec possibilité d'être prioritaire / emplacements ... comprenant moquette, cloisons mélaminées, rail de 3 spots/9m2,

... were NOT correlated with the spotlights. Typo.

The 12 sq.m would be the floor area provided for spotlights.

neutral  Tony M: I think the / 12 m² would probably mean you get one spot track per 12 m² of exhibition space rented; and I suspect 'flux' means 'circulation areas', as specifically defined by this exhibition organizer.

It might, however, be referring to the electrical supply.

neutral  Tony M: I'm not sure that's quite the same thing, B. While it may be 'double flux', I'm not sure how it could be 'hors flux' / Ah yes, now THAT's a better idea! Perhaps the lighting is run off a separate circuit from the power to the stand...

-> No, it isn't the same thing. However, the source text seems to associate this with the supply of the spotlight rail/track, and I suspect it is to do with the electrical supply, rather than the lumens produced.
